Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups across a 60-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5/6 patient ratio
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Operate unit equipment including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs; document care using EPIC EMR
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
• Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; must be available the entire first week for day-shift orientation

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with Telemetry in addition to Medical Surgical background
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a dependable and flexible approach
