Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel, Inpatient)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
• Operate unit equipment including Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machines; document using EPIC EMR
• May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs; function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Must be available the entire first week for orientation, which takes place on day shift

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience working with a diverse patient population in a team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
