Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill adult and pediatric patients presenting with a wide variety of medical conditions, diseases, and post-surgical needs on a 22-bed Medical Surgical unit
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
- Manage patient admissions and discharges in a timely and organized manner
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation through charting and medical record updates
- Collaborate with and regularly update the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure continuity of care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Active Oklahoma RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Ability to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must successfully complete pre-employment credentialing clearances including background check and drug screen
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role including standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity Medical Surgical environment with varied patient ratios
- Familiarity with managing patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6 in a fast-paced unit setting
