Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 14-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Titrate drips including analgesics for pain management, anticoagulants for blood clot treatment, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and escalate concerns to a physician as appropriate — no telemetry/monitor techs on unit
• Manage patients presenting with diagnoses including CHF, hypertension, chest pain workups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators
• Fulfill weekend, holiday, call/standby, and floating requirements as determined by unit needs and nurse manager direction

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Comfort with independent telemetry strip interpretation and clinical escalation
• Ability to titrate IV drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Clinicians must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a rural hospital setting with an understanding of limited resources and typically lower patient volumes
• Experience managing high-acuity Medical/Surgical diagnoses including respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions
• Familiarity with self-scheduling and block scheduling environments
