Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR), assisting with cardiac surgical procedures
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required
• Participate in cardiac call coverage, with an expected minimum of approximately 6 call shifts per month (1 per weekday and 2 weekend shifts; weekend call shifts are 24 hours)
• Perform other OR cases as assigned when no CVOR cases are scheduled
• Complete required facility modules prior to start date; modules are time-sensitive and must be prioritized promptly upon assignment confirmation
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of direct CVOR experience required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submittal
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of initial submission; RTO added after submission will likely not be approved
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Ability to adapt quickly to facility-specific cardiac OR setup and workflows
