Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Maintain clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Design functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
- Support organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervision channels
Required Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist licensure in good standing in the state of Texas
- Lymphedema experience required
- Ability to complete documentation, goal writing, and charge entry using approved formats in compliance with applicable guidelines
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and ethical standards
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an outpatient therapy setting
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations
- Familiarity with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
