Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients including observation, post cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversion patients within an adult population
• Utilize telemetry equipment and document within the Paragon EHR system
• Maintain BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the assignment
• Participate in float requirements as needed across applicable units
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating strong communication skills and flexibility

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Step-down or ICU experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum required education

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac patient populations including cardiac observation and post-procedural care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac-focused clinical environments
• Experience using the Paragon EHR system
• Team-oriented mindset with strong adaptability and communication skills
