Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
• Float as needed to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed expansion of the ED with full telemetry capability and negative pressure room availability
• Deliver nursing interventions and procedures for patients undergoing lengthy testing, awaiting consultations, or awaiting inpatient bed placement
• Work every third weekend and be available for holiday coverage; travelers are expected to work at least one of the major upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
• May provide care for COVID-positive patients
• Maintain active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC only) throughout the duration of the contract

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with no license hits (hard stop); PA license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC only)
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
• Requested time off is expected to be minimized to no more than 7 days per contract; blocked scheduling is not approved
• Facility is tobacco-free and fragrance-free

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a high-volume, Level I Trauma environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and negative pressure room protocols
