Key Responsibilities
- Float across units to meet staffing needs, caring for a diverse patient population including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg patients
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–6 depending on unit acuity
- Perform core charge nurse duties as needed on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination
- Document and chart accurately using EPIC
- Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care
- May be expected to float between nearby sister facilities as required by the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
- Charge nurse experience required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals considered under a separate rate structure)
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or float pool environment
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and diverse acute care patient populations
- Experience working in a short-term acute care hospital setting
