Key Responsibilities

• Float between MedSurg units, Step-down (IMCU), Inpatient Rehab Unit (IRU), and ED Holding, providing RN-level care across varying patient acuity levels
• Manage MedSurg patient populations including post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative/hospice, and end-of-life care; must be comfortable with both clean and isolation patient assignments
• Monitor and care for telemetry patients on Step-down; must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin on Step-down; administer Heparin and comfort-measure drips on MedSurg
• Manage patients on Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation in alignment with permanent staff scheduling practices

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Pennsylvania (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required for all float pool assignments
• ACLS certification required for Step-down/telemetry assignments
• NIHSS certification required for Step-down/telemetry assignments
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently
• Willingness to work every-other-weekend (EOW) and rotate into holiday scheduling

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in MedSurg, telemetry, or step-down nursing
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR (facility transitioning to Epic)
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips in a monitored setting
• Comfort working with high-acuity populations including cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, and patients downgraded from the ICU
