Job Title

Travel RN – PCU / Progressive Care Unit (Night Shift)

Salem, VA | Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 4–5:1
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac telemetry, including post-cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, and groin management
• Care for post-surgical patients including open heart, lung, general surgery, and post-op orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• Manage chest tubes, epidurals, PCA, and critical drips including NTG, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
• Document and coordinate care using the Meditech EMR system
• Float as needed to ICU (PCU-type patients), PCU, or Med-Surg (up to 5 patients)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac rhythms and care of surgical patients
• Proficiency in chest tube management and epidural care
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
