Travel RN – Freestanding Emergency Department (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Weekends rotate (Fridays and Saturdays, 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) | Holiday coverage required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed freestanding emergency department setting with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Perform independent IV insertions, EKG acquisition and interpretation, and comprehensive patient assessments
• Administer and scan medications accurately for every patient and every medication administered
• Operate and monitor equipment including GE Monitors, Baxter Pumps, Zoll Defibrillators, and small ventilators
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Function as a collaborative and independent team member on a night shift team of 2 RNs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure applicable to the state of Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• Independent IV skills, EKG skills, and strong assessment skills
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Ability to work rotating weekends and required holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a freestanding emergency department setting
• Experience independently mixing pharmacy drugs such as tPA and KCentra
