Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday | 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing care across all ages of life, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Recover and monitor patients post-operatively across 11 service lines including General, Robotics, Bariatrics, Ortho, Podiatry, ENT, Urology, Vascular, Neuro, GYN, and ENDO
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients, arterial lines, Foley catheters, chest tubes, and assist with nerve blocks
• Operate and monitor equipment including ventilators, glucose monitoring devices, bladder scanners, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and wound vacs
• Float between Pre-Op and PACU departments as needed; maintain patient ratios typically 2:1 (1:1 for pediatric or ICU-level patients)
• Participate in on-call rotation: 11 PM – 7 AM call every other week, scheduled on a worked day to allow for recovery

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (ADN minimum)
• BLS certification required prior to start
• ACLS certification required prior to start
• PALS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or relevant RN experience; must be able to recover and manage ventilator-dependent patients
• Proficiency with Meditech Magic EHR
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel consideration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing ICU-level patients for recovery and holding beds
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical service lines including vascular and neurological cases
• Experience with pediatric patient care in a PACU setting
