Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required | Self-scheduling with manager oversight for unit balancing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6, serving cardiology, surgical oncology, urology, and complex general Med/Surg populations
• Monitor and manage patients on telemetry; RN must be able to read basic cardiac strips (centralized monitoring techs available)
• Administer and manage IV fluids and other set-rate drips as indicated; titration of drips is not required
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including nasal cannula, trach collar, and supplemental oxygen up to 6L in acute situations
• Participate in an academic setting with willingness to precept and mentor students and staff as needed
• Float to other units per skill level as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Nebraska
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health are not eligible
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of the contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for a wide variety of Med/Surg patient populations including cardiology, oncology, and urology
• Charge nurse or house supervisor experience is a plus
• Comfort working in an academic medical environment with a willingness to teach and learn
