Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 3 shifts/week | 4 weekend shifts per schedule block | No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed neuro medical/surgical telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and assess patients using telemetry equipment, Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, PCA pumps, and CareView Virtual Sitter technology
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including Stroke NIH assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including CNCs, LVNs, and PCTs across night shift operations
• Adhere to unit dress code: navy scrubs; hoop nose piercings not permitted

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical/surgical or telemetry setting
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred; candidates holding ACLS will be given priority consideration
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring, Hoyer lift operation, and PCA pump management
• Team-oriented, self-motivated professional comfortable in a fast-paced neuro med/surg environment
