Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Cyclic Scheduling | Every Other Weekend Required | 1 Major and 1 Minor Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced stepdown/PCU setting with common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per protocol
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips; telemetry monitor techs are not responsible for strip interpretation
• Manage patients on CPAP equipment as needed; troubleshoot RT equipment
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with nurse aide support available at a 1:10 ratio
• Float to ICU when appropriate and based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills assessment during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of the contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior stepdown, PCU, or IMC nursing experience
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU setting
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and patient-centered approach to care
