Contract | 3x12-hour shifts | Evening/Mid shift, 3:00 PM – 3:20 AM | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required during contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care across a 54-bed Emergency Department serving neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a high-volume setting averaging approximately 120 visits per day
• Float within scope to support two rapid evaluation units covering urgent care and critical care needs
• Support two locked Behavioral Health units within the ED, working alongside an on-site security team at a 1:6 patient ratio
• Deliver care in alignment with Primary Stroke Center protocols, including required annual stroke continuing education; 4 hours of annual stroke CEs required
• Utilize Cerner (with FirstNet and Launch) for electronic charting and documentation
• Wear facility-designated navy blue scrubs and adhere to all department policies and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider candidates with 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Valid Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS certifications required
• Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment required
• Ability to float within the hospital within scope of practice
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Precepting and training experience preferred
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential preferred
• Familiarity with Behavioral Health patient populations in an emergency setting
• Experience in a high-volume or trauma-designated Emergency Department
