Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
- Manage a patient assignment within a typical 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate post-surgical care and patient progression
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of recent, relevant Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
- Must pass an EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start; one attempt is given with no remediation available
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license required for address verification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience caring for urology and/or GYN surgical patient populations
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills, including complex rhythm and interval measurement
