Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Neuro Cardiac Med/Surg/Tele unit serving complex patient populations including post cardiac cath with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and post-craniotomy patients
• Perform NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screenings, and strong neurological assessments as core unit functions
• Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; initiate and titrate drips including insulin, cardiac, and heparin infusions
• Perform heart cath recovery including femoral and TR band management
• Float within skillset to a secondary campus location with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
• May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility

Required Qualifications

• Current, active RN Compact License
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of two years of strong Telemetry / Med-Surg experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Must pass facility telemetry competency testing
• Candidates must reside at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with NG/PEG tube management
• Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion
• Familiarity with Tikosyn dosing and chest tube management
• Demonstrated adaptability, strong work ethic, and ability to manage change in a dynamic unit environment
