Shift: 12 hours, nights

Beds: 28 private beds Role: Step-Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN Shift: 12-hour shifts (7a–7:30p & 7p–7:30a) | Every other weekend | Every other holiday rotation Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EMR: Cerner / EPIC Ratios: 1:4–5 (MedSurg 1:6) Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor Float: May float to ICU as needed Patient Population: Heavy cardiac (dysrhythmias, CVAs), complex step-down cases Telemetry / Drips: RN reads strips; must titrate Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin; insulin set-rate only Equipment: BiPAP, CPAP, high flow vents Support: Hospitalist 24/7, Intensivist 7a–7p with on-call coverage, RT & Pharmacy 24/7, nurse aides during the day/mid-shift Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs Notes: Traveler-friendly unit with supportive leadership and flexible scheduling.
