Job requirements: • Competence in monitoring, interpreting, and responding to acute telemetry changes. • Proficiency in managing radial hemostasis devices (TR Band/Vasc Band). • Ability to manage femoral access sites following arterial and venous sheath removal, including recognition and response to complications. Unit Overview The Heart & Vascular Outpatient Unit (HVOU) is a 15-bed Floor/IMC level unit, with five private and ten semi-private rooms. Typical staffing ratios are 1:3–1:4 depending on acuity. The unit operates 24/5, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday morning discharges. Overnight census generally ranges from 2–4 patients. The HVOU primarily manages prescheduled outpatients who are discharged the same day or observed overnight, as well as inpatients recovering in the immediate post-procedure (Phase II) period before returning to their rooms. The unit supports Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, and Vascular Surgery service lines, whose procedures are performed in the adjacent HVI invasive procedural suite.
