Nursing Contract Opportunity

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

• Serve as a customer service agent and primary contact for patient clinical inquiries.
• Answer patient telephone calls, assess urgency, and provide appropriate responses.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required.

Experience

• Three years of hospital nursing experience as an RN or prior triage experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including medication effects.
• Familiarity with physician office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT coding guidelines.
• Clear and effective communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal physician instructions.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
• Strong problem-solving skills: identify, analyze, prioritize, make quick decisions, and recommend care solutions per protocol.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed every two years.
• Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within four months of hire/transfer, renewed every two years.

Supervision

• Receives general to indirect supervision from the Nursing Supervisor.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
