Job Overview:

Ballad Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical unit (Unit 2000) to provide high-quality patient care across adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric populations. This role involves rotating weekends and floating as needed.

The unit includes:

• 2100: Medical/Surgical – higher turnover, infectious patients
• 2200: Surgical/Ortho – pre/post-op, ortho and general surgery service lines

Patient Ratio: 1:7 (Days/Nights/Weekends)

Daily Census: 34 beds

Electronic Charting Systems: Epic

Required Qualifications:

• Licensure: RN license in-hand; permanent residence must be >100 miles from hospital service area
• Education: BSN required for international travelers
• Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred; previous charge experience preferred
• Certifications:
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required(NIHSS – will be provide for candidates willing to obtain it.)
  • OCN, PALS preferred
• Skills:
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, blood product administration
  • Chemotherapy administration & monitoring (preferred)
  • Respiratory care: high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, trach care
  • Ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements
  • Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, dysrhythmia management
  • Gastrointestinal and renal care (feeding tubes, colostomy, hemodialysis)
  • Wound care/Wound VAC, isolation precautions
  • Pre/Post surgical care for thoracic, neurosurgery, cardiac procedures

Work Schedule & Flexibility:

• Night shift, 3x12-hour
• Rotating weekends/holidays
• Floating required
• Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without penalty
• Additional shifts above the work commitment may be flexed
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit-testing guidelines

Compensation:

• Base Bill Rate: $3,000/Week
