Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Augusta, GA. The ICU RN will deliver high-quality, patient- and family-centered care to critically ill patients, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, is committed to excellence, and supports quality and performance-improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments; develop and implement individualized plans of care; evaluate outcomes.
- Monitor and respond to complex physiologic changes (e.g., ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, invasive lines).
- Administer advanced therapies, medications (including titratable drips), and manage equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with physician/APP teams, allied health, and support services for coordinated care delivery.
- Document all patient care and teaching accurately in the electronic medical record; provide patient/family education and support.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, care-map development, and unit performance-improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and precept new or less experienced staff; foster a collaborative, professional team environment.
- Uphold professional standards, maintain certifications/licensure, and engage in continuous improvement and evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Active RN license in the State of Georgia (or Compact License).
- Certifications: BLS required
- Minimum 1-2 years of ICU/critical-care RN experience preferred (or equivalent critical-care exposure).
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication and time-management skills in a high-acuity environment.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining compassionate patient care.
