RN – PICU – Contract – Mount Sinai Hospital
Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital
Location: 1184 5th Ave – Kravis, New York, NY 10029
Start Date: December 15, 2025 (or ASAP upon credentialing)
Duration: 13 Weeks (Estimated End Date: March 14, 2026)
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week

Position Overview:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or injured pediatric patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-support therapies. The Clinical Nurse (RN) integrates critical thinking, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practices to deliver safe, high-quality care within Mount Sinai’s Relationship Centered Care model.
Requirements:
Licensure:
- NYS Registered Nurse License – Required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years total RN experience – Required
- Minimum 1 year Pediatric ICU/Critical Care experience – Required
- Pediatric hospital experience – Required
- EPIC EMR experience – Preferred
- Travel nursing experience – Preferred but not required
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- PALS (AHA) – Required
Unit & Patient Details:
- Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Patient Population: Critically ill pediatric patients
- Acuity Level: High – ventilated, post-surgical, and complex critical cases
- Average Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
- Equipment: Ventilators, infusion pumps, monitoring systems
- Documentation System: EPIC
