Position Details
PCU RN
NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (no candidates within 50-mile radius)
MUST pass EKG Exam at Orientation (Study Guide Available in Simplify Library)
Must be able to read/verify rhythm strips
Must be proficient with lab draws and starting IVs
Experience managing non-titrating cardiac drips required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
12-Hr NIGHTS 7:30p-8a, Every other weekend/major holiday required
Unit Specific Details
13 Bed Cardiac/Medical Stepdown Unit
Skills: Cardiac Drips (Amio, Cardizem, Nitro, Cardene, etc), nasal cannula up to mid-flow
Equipment: Cardiac Devices - Lifevest
Oxygen - midflow, bipap
Patient Population: Cardiac - Procedures (except CABG) pacemaker's, pre/post cath with and without interventions, r/o MI stress testing
Medical: Pneumonia, sepsis, overdose, withdrawal, renal, CHF, Arrhythmia - Limited surgical patients
Navy blue/white scrubs
Ratio*: 1:3-4
*All listed ratios are subject to change based on staffing availability at the facility. Ratios are never guaranteed but are what the unit typically attempts to achieve with normal staffing
