Description
Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Respiratory Therapy
Location: Fayetteville, NC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 4x12-Hour (18:00–06:00)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients, including ICU-level support.
- Administer treatments, manage ventilators, perform assessments, and respond to respiratory emergencies.
- Float within scope to other units or sister campuses as needed.
- Work every other weekend and cover required holiday shifts in accordance with facility expectations.
- Adhere to physician orders, hospital protocols, and respiratory therapy best practices.
- Document accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a high-acuity Level III Trauma and teaching hospital environment.
- Maintain compliance with departmental standards, safety requirements, and infection prevention guidelines.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience.
- Comfortable working with both adults and children in ICU settings.
- Strong clinical competency in ventilator management, airway care, emergency response, and pediatric respiratory support.
- Must be able to float between like units as needed.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel experience preferred but not required.
- No local candidates (must live 50+ miles from facility).
- Must have clean background—no hits within the past year.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- RRT – Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Active state or compact Respiratory Therapy license (no pending licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS – Basic Life Support
- May be required to pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of onboarding
