Job Summary:

This role is for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVU) that supports a 30-bed department providing medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care for medium- to high-acuity patients. The CVU treats young adult through geriatric populations with complex conditions and co-morbidities requiring elevated levels of nursing care. Common patient profiles include cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, acute myocardial infarction, post–pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia monitoring, CHF, pneumonia, and related conditions. Nurse-to-patient ratios will not exceed 1:4.

This position may require floating to other units, including Med/Surg.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medium- to high-acuity cardiovascular patients.
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, and patient stability with rapid intervention when needed.
• Perform postoperative and preoperative care for cardiac and vascular surgical patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Document care and assessments using EPIC EHR.
• Assist with patient education regarding cardiac conditions, post-operative care, and medications.
• Support unit operations and patient safety initiatives.
• Float to required units as needed.

Requirements:

• Active California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care experience

Contract Details:

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour NOC shifts (7:00 PM start)
• Holiday coverage required
• Maximum submissions per job: 5
• W-2 employment required
• Some units may require floating
