Description
Shift: 12H Days Days, EOW, first to float
Unit Notes:- Unit: ICU- # beds: 20- Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS- Ratios: 1 to 1 or 1 to 2- EMR: Cerner- Charge Nurse: Nurse Shift Manager or Charge Nurse Each Shift, try to have resource nurse- Nurse Aides: n/a- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks- Holidays: One major and two minors at Christmas time (eves considered minors)- Scrub Color: Navy Blue- Tele: Phillips- Vents: Yes-RT manage, nurse troubleshoot- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Not 24/7 but starting 24/7 will be on call 24/7- IV Team: PICC/Midline team- RT 24/7: in unit 24/7- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes- Call: If staff reduced, would be put on call- Shifts: 7a, 7p- Floating: ER, Tele or med surg -will be floated to sister facility - Mercy SW.- Floor specific orientation: Minimum 2 shifts plus one for Cerner- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Neuro, radical cancer surgeries, DaVinci, abdominal cases, urology cases, CVA, TPA, not a specific cardiac facility, so true cardiac needing intervention gets sent to memorial, small amount vascular surgery, respiratory failure, sepsis typically no peds, rotaprone, glycemic control, oncology patients- Additional Notes: Nurses will work both campuses but rare they would float mid shift; night shift minimum 2 yrs
