Description

Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatrics
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care for pediatric patients including neonates, infants, and adolescents at a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital setting.
  • Manage airway devices and suctioning including extubation and bronchoscopy support.
  • Deliver care in Pediatric Critical Care, NICU, and general pediatrics units.
  • Administer respiratory therapy and treatments tailored for pediatric and neonatal populations.
  • Document patient care using Epic charting system (preferred).
  • Participate in holiday rotations and work every other weekend.
  • Float within scope based on experience; no float to sister facilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years pediatric respiratory therapy experience preferred; 3 years ideal.
  • Experience with neonatal, infant, and pediatric patients required.
  • Teaching hospital and Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
  • Epic charting experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work nights and adhere to holiday and weekend requirements.

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (NBRC).
  • South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required at start (pending applications accepted with proof).
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (preferred).
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (preferred).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
