Registered Nurse – CVICU (Travel Assignment)

Location: Rochester, Michigan 

Start Date: December 2025 

Job Duration: 13 weeks 

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) 

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend 

Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday during assignment 

 Charting System: Cerner

Job Summary

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of compassionate, high-quality patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the RN will provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families. This role requires effective communication with the healthcare team and active participation in resolving variances from patient goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Provide support for patients requiring advanced therapies including Impella and IABP
• Manage patients with recent open-heart surgery experience
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective care
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout care delivery

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel
• Experience with Cerner, Impella, and IABP
• Recent open-heart experience required

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Certifications & Licensure

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
