Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room (Days)
Job Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4×10s (40 hrs/week)
On-Call: Up to 1 overnight/week + 3 weekends per contract

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons with instrumentation, equipment, and supplies during operative procedures.
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including:
  Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Trauma-Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Urology, General, Pediatrics, ENT, Plastics, Transplants.
• Participate in patient care activities as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and compliance standards at all times.
• Support turnover efficiency with <20-minute expectations.

Department & Facility Details

• Unit: Operating Room
• Beds/Suites: 16 OR suites (12–14 running routinely)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Average Caseload: 35–50 cases/day
• Special Equipment:
  • 3 DaVinci Robots
  • Stealth Neuro Navigation
  • Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma
• Scrubs: Provided
• Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center
• EMR: EPIC

Shift, Call & Holiday Requirements

• Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM), Mon–Fri
• Call:
  • Up to 1 overnight per week
  • 3 weekends per 13-week contract
  • Weekend call: Fri 5:00 PM → Mon 6:30 AM

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Minimum 2+ years recent OR experience in a hospital/medical center
  • Strong experience in:
    • General, Robotics, Pediatrics, ENT, Ortho, Laparoscopic, Urology
  • Level I trauma experience required
• Certifications:
  • NBSTSA (CST) – Required
  • BLS – Required
• Additional:
  • NBSTSA equivalent accepted
