Start Requirement: 2+ Years Pediatric Experience
License: Active IL RN or proof of application

Orientation: 12 Non-billable Hours
Certifications: BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
Trauma Level: I
Charting System: Epic

🔹 Unit Details

Department: Pediatric Acute | RN
Beds: 22 Pediatric Acute + 10 Peds Hem/Onc (shared unit w/ swing capability)
Ratio: 1:4
Support:
- Charge RN 24/7 (no assignment)
- Pediatric Crisis RN 24/7
- Admin Supervisor 24/7
- PCTs ratio: 1:8–10
Typical Diagnoses:
Hyperbilirubinemia, Neuro, Diabetes, FTT, Cystic Fibrosis, COVID, Ortho, General Med/Surg Pediatrics
Coverage:
- Hospitalist in-house until midnight
- 24/7 Residents
- Monitor tech support watching Peds & Peds ICU monitors
RT Support: Heated high-flow & BiPAP managed under set parameters

🔹 Scheduling & Requirements

Every Other Weekend
- Nights: Fri/Sat
- Days (if selected): Sat/Sun
Holiday Coverage Required (unless approved in interview)
Call/Standby: Not mandatory
Floating: Within Children’s Hospital (no ICU/chemo unless experienced)
Dress Code:
- Pediatric-appropriate scrub top (patterns/colors allowed, non-revealing)
- Solid-color scrub pants
Orientation: 2 shifts minimum (extendable w/ approval)

Local Radius Rule: Accepted at local rate
Call Off Policy: 12 hours allowed per 13-week contract
Drug-Free Campus: Negative drug screen required
