Description
The RN Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, safe, and individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Practice follows the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, Shared Governance, evidence-based standards, and the Georgia Nurse Practice Act while supporting patient advocacy and service excellence.
Core ResponsibilitiesExemplary Practice: Performs the full Nursing Process using critical thinking and evidence-based care; provides culturally sensitive, patient-centered care; engages patients and families in care planning; follows current clinical standards.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Coordinates and documents safe care; supports effective interdisciplinary communication; promotes a respectful environment and fiscal responsibility; participates in performance improvement and shared governance.
Professional Development: Completes required competencies and education; serves as a preceptor/mentor and models professional nursing practice.
Evidence-Based Practice: Supports evidence-based practice, research, and value analysis; follows organizational, legal, regulatory, and safety standards; participates in data collection and uses evidence to guide practice.
Resource Management: Plans care across the continuum; supports efficient use of resources; helps develop protocols to improve outcomes.
Other duties as assigned; adheres to all Wellstar policies and code of conduct.
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required); BSN (preferred).
Licensure & Certifications
RN (single-state or compact); BLS; ACLS; PALS preferred.
Experience:Completion of required nursing clinical hours (required); direct patient care experience (preferred).
Skills
English proficiency; basic computer skills; strong communication and teamwork; ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment; excellent time-management and critical-thinking skills.
Education
