RN – Corrections (Youngstown, OH) | Nights | 12/16/2025 Start

Overview:
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care inside a correctional facility, including medication administration, emergency response, sick-call support, and coordination with Licensed Independent Providers. This role requires strong clinical judgment, safety awareness, and the ability to work within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care, execute provider orders, administer/dispense medications.
• Attend sick call with the provider; prepare exam rooms and equipment.
• Assess inmates with illnesses/injuries and coordinate transfers to ER if needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and contact providers for urgent orders.
• Supervise and guide LPNs and non-licensed staff.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of all medical records.
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and assist with discharge coordination.
• Conduct pill call, documentation, and inventory with strict compliance to policies.
• Inspect medical unit for contraband and ensure secure storage of supplies.
• Provide health education and counseling.
• Prepare required reports, logs, and documentation.
• Escort or coordinate inmate movement for medical care and perform safety checks.
• Assist with NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation compliance.

Schedule:

• Start Date: 12/16/2025
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Shift: Nights (typically 6p–6a)
• Days: 3 shifts/week, every other weekend
• 36-hour guarantee
• Must have open availability per CoreCivic scheduling
• Tuesday starts, fingerprinting on Day 1

Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited nursing program
• Active RN license in Ohio
• 1 year of nursing experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and present Social Security Card for facility clearance.
