Description

Job Title : HISTO TECH

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts

Location : Saranac Lake, NY, 12983

Responsibilities:

Perform accurate gross descriptions, dissection, and processing of biopsies and tissue specimens per established protocols under the supervision of a Pathologist or Pathology Supervisor. Provide support in related pathology tasks as needed, such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, routine maintenance, and cytology specimen preparation.

Experience Requirements:

Grossing experience required (minimum 1+ year)
Full technical expertise in all areas of histology and cytology preparation, including embedding, cutting, and IHC
Experience grossing biopsies and performing IHC on the Leica BOND MAX preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree in science preferred, not required

Licensure: Current NYS license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Histotechnologist (HTL) required

Radius Rule: 75 miles — locals accepted with reduced rate
