Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates Professionalism & Service Excellence
   Maintains a professional image and delivers excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in alignment with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
2. Performs Comprehensive Patient Assessment
   Assesses assigned patients using history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis to identify needs and guide clinical decision-making.
3. Delivers Evidence-Based Nursing Interventions
   Provides appropriate nursing care in accordance with the individualized Plan of Care, standards of practice, and physician-prescribed treatments.
4. Performs Hourly Rounding
   Conducts hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P’s (Pain, Positioning, Personal Needs, Placement).
5. Creates a Compassionate Care Environment
   Promotes an atmosphere of caring, compassion, dignity, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
6. Ensures Safety for Patients and Staff
   Uses appropriate health and safety equipment and follows safety protocols to protect both patients and team members.
7. Applies Standard Work Practices
   Delivers care following established standards for central lines, chest tubes, Foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcer prevention, restraint use, and fall-risk reduction.
8. Supports Team Development
   Contributes to departmental performance by precepting, mentoring, and supporting novice staff members.
9. Participates in Quality & Evidence-Based Initiatives
   Engages in hospital and system initiatives that promote nursing-driven, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
10. Commits to Professional Growth
    Sets personal development goals and actively participates in educational opportunities to enhance clinical competency.
11. Completes Additional Duties as Assigned
    Performs other relevant responsibilities as required to support patient care and unit operations.
12. Medication Safety & Storage Compliance
    Understands and adheres to proper storage, handling, and safety standards for medications, including large-volume IV solutions, saline, and medications packaged in procedural kits.
