Emergency Room RN – Nights (Fri–Sun)
Unit: Emergency Department (ER)

Required Certifications:

ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
PALS

Shift Information:

Nights, Friday–Sunday
12-hour shifts (0645–1915 / 1845–0715)
Additional shift times: 9a, 12p, 3p (Day shift: 7a/9a/12p; Night shift: 3p/7p)
Must be flexible with shift assignments

Unit Details

Fast Track: Yes—operated from a separate area; travelers typically work in main ER.
Beds/Trauma Bays: 24 beds, 0 trauma bays
Psych/Seclusion Rooms: One private room available; overflow room holds up to 4 patients
Daily ER Volume: ~250 visits per day
Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity
Common Diagnoses: STEMI receiving facility, Cardiac, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, DKA, and full-spectrum ER patients (no inpatient Pediatrics or Behavioral Health unit)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years ER experience required
Trauma experience preferred
Open to first-time travelers

Support & Resources

Charge Nurse: Yes—non-patient care
ER Techs: Assist with tech duties, patient sitter roles, and security support
Phlebotomy: Phlebotomists draw labs unless central line
RT: 24/7 coverage
Pharmacy: 24/7 onsite
Monitor Techs: 22 hardwired GE monitors—at bedside and nurses station
Vents: Available; typically managed by RT
ED Physicians & Mid-Levels: MDs, PAs, NPs
IV Team: None
Floating: None
Orientation: 1 full day on the unit

Weekend & Holiday Requirements

Weekend is defined as Fri–Sun
Every other weekend required (may be every weekend depending on staffing)
Holiday shifts required—scheduled within permanent staff rotation
