Key Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess and monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and overall health status to identify any changes in condition.
- Administering Medications: Safely administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking and advanced nursing skills to stabilize patients and implement life-saving interventions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and medical history.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients, their families, and the medical team, providing emotional support and education about treatment options and care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s 0r Associate degree in nursing (BSN) or a relevant field.
- Experience: At least 2-5 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting is often preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are typically required.
- Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, ability to work in high-stress environments, and proficiency in using complex medical equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors.
