DESCRIPTION:

Position: MS/Tele RN (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse)

Location: Rochester, NY

Shift & Ratios:

• Day/Evening: 5:1 (stretch 6-7:1)
• Night: 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10:1 if staff calls in)

Experience Requirements:

• Years of Experience: 1+ year (first-time RNs accepted)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Certifications: BLS required
• Pending License Accepted: No

On-Call: No

Floating Requirements: Yes – must float within scope to Medical-Surgical, ICU, or ED units as needed.

Schedule Flexibility: Facility may accommodate block schedules

Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No holiday RTO; maximum of 7 consecutive days.

Patient Population: Cardiac and stroke patients

Special Equipment: Hoyer lifts

Preferred Systems: Epic

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

Cardiac & Emergency Response:

• Cardiac monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams

IV & Line Management:

• IV therapy, peripheral line care/management
• PICC and central line care

Respiratory Care:

• Nasal cannula and oxygen administration (face masks and portable tanks)
• Non-invasive airway management

Professional & Safety Skills:

• Isolation precautions
• Proper use of Rapid Response Teams
• Safe patient handling with special equipment
