Role Summary

The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging procedures, positions patients, ensures safety, maintains equipment cleanliness, and verifies accurate image labeling and transmission to PACS. Provides patient education and assists physicians as required.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans per protocol.
• Position patients and coils for optimal imaging.
• Review MRI safety questionnaires before entering scan room.
• Label images correctly and send to PACS promptly.
• Maintain room/equipment cleanliness and manage supplies.
• Enter/update patient info and schedules in IDX/RIS.
• Monitor for safety hazards and report equipment issues.
• Assist physicians during procedures.
• Follow infection control and MRI safety guidelines.
• Attend in-services and maintain required licensure.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology & MR physics.
• Excellent technical scanning skills.

Preferred:

• 2 years of MRI experience.

Education

• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications (Required)

• NY Diagnostic Radiology License
• ARRT (MRI)
• BCLS/BLS
