Job Opening: OR Circulating RN (Pediatrics)
Children’s Wisconsin – Milwaukee Campus
Schedule: 12-Hour Weekend Nights | Friday–Saturday

Contract Details:

• Guaranteed Hours: 24 per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 12/22

Shift Requirements:

• Two 12-hour shifts: Friday & Saturday nights, 18:50–07:20
• Orientation: Two weeks, Monday–Friday, 06:50–15:20

Float Requirements:

• May float to the Surgicenter if needed

Call Requirements:

• Minimum 1 weekday of call per week
• Every 4th weekend: Friday end of shift → Monday 07:00
• 30-minute response time

In-House On-Call:

• If a core staff member calls out or is on PTO, traveler may be asked to remain in-house overnight
• Paid regular hourly rate while on-site/resting
• Eligible for call-back pay if brought in for a procedure

Weekends/Holidays:

• Will rotate every other weekend as needed
• Holiday coverage may include in-house shifts or 24-hour beeper call

Required Certifications:

• AHA BLS
• Active, unencumbered WI or Compact RN license

Minimum Experience:

• 3+ years OR experience required
• Pediatric OR experience required

Charting System:

• EPIC

Unit & Case Details:

• 14 ORs + 3 Special Procedure Rooms (GI, oncology, dental)
• Circulating-only role
• Case types include ENT, ortho, urology, general surgery, craniofacial/plastics, neuro, and eyes
• Cardiac is performed, but travelers will not be assigned to cardiac cases
• Ideal candidate: hardworking, adaptable, resilient, strong communicator

Scrub Colors:

• Any color except all black

Jewelry Policy:

• One small nose stud permitted
• No other visible piercings (except ear piercings)
• Flesh-colored or clear plugs allowed

Additional Requirement:

• Flu vaccine required — no exemptions permitted
