Department: Computed Tomography (CT)
Cost Center: 711512
Requirement: Rad Badge must be obtained prior to start date
Certification Requirements
- Required: BLS
- Licenses/Certifications: ARRT RT(R)(CT) and Washington State RT license
Department Overview
- Total Scanners/Rooms: 4
- 2 scanners in Outpatient CT
- 1 scanner in the ER
- 1 scanner in CCU
- Coverage: Techs rotate through ER and CCU
Floating Expectations
- Possible float to Bellevue (approx. 16 minutes away).
- If needed, traveler may be assigned to Bellevue for the entire duration of the contract, depending on departmental needs.
Common Imaging & Job Duties
- Full spectrum of CT exams including:
- Pelvis colonography
- Coronary CTA
- TAVR planning
- High-volume chest/abdomen/pelvis exams
- Experience with GE CT scanners is required.
Productivity Expectations
- Seattle:
- Average of ~20 scans per tech per day
- 2–3 techs support the 2 outpatient scanners
- 1–2 techs cover the ER and CCU scanners
- Bellevue:
- Average of ~14 exams per day with 1 tech

- PACS/EMR: GE Centricity, Philips PACS, Cerner EMR
- CT Equipment: GE
- Radiologist On-Site: Yes
- RRA Utilization: No RRAs used
- IV Starts Required: Yes
Leadership Structure
- Supported by Lead Techs and an Imaging Manager
Weekend & Holiday Requirements
- Depends on assigned shift; CT operates 24/7.
- Typical 12-hour weekend rotations include:
- Thu–Sat
- Sat–Mon
- Tue–Wed–Sun
- Holidays rotate similarly to weekend staffing.
Call / Standby
- No required call for travelers.
- May be asked if extra coverage is needed.
Dress Code
- No formal requirement provided.
- Staff generally wear navy, gray, or a mix.
Orientation
- Day 1 includes general organizational orientation and required modules.
- Department orientation consists of working with a staff member during the first week to ensure competency and safety.
