Job Overview
A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist is needed to provide evaluation and treatment services within an acute care setting. The SLP will assess speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs while delivering evidence-based interventions to support patient recovery. This role requires strong clinical judgment, timely documentation, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication function.
• Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans aligned with patient goals and medical presentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and care plans in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, PT/OT, case management, and other clinical partners to support coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, therapy goals, safety considerations, and recommended home programming.
• Provide therapy for diverse acute care populations, including neurological, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.

Requirements

• Active Oregon SLP license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience; acute care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
