Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - Cardiac ICU (Night Shift)
Location: New York, NY
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse for a Cardiac ICU contract in New York City. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, dedicated to providing evidence-based care to high-acuity patients. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage complex patient needs, utilizing advanced assessment skills and maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality care.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: BSN Required.
- Licensure: Active NYS Registered Nurse License.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
- Must have Cardiac ICU experience in a hospital setting.
- Prior travel experience preferred (1 year).
- Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required.
- EMR: Epic experience highly preferred.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts (36 hours/week).
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Ratio: Generally 1:2.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care based on nursing theory and evidence-based practice.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage critical care needs.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor and escalate safety hazards or changes in patient condition immediately.
