Job Title: Registered Nurse- ICU- Stepdown
Location: Elmhurst, NY, 11373
Shift: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week
Duration: 19 weeks

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – ICU Stepdown with 2+ years of recent acute care experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in monitoring and managing high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU to stepdown care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to ICU stepdown patients, including continuous monitoring and assessment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as per physician orders and protocols.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care when required.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans.

• Ensure accurate documentation, patient safety, and adherence to infection control and quality standards.

   

Skills:

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills for high-acuity patients.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration.
• Ability to recognize early signs of patient deterioration and act promptly.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient safety and quality care.

Documents Required:

• Valid NY State RN license
• ACLS Certified through AHA
• BLS Certified through AHA
