Travel Director of Nursing (DON)
Location: Worland, WY
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Schedule: 5×8 Variable Shifts
Pay: $2800–$3006/week gross
Position Overview
A skilled long-term care facility in Worland, WY is seeking an experienced Travel Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strong clinical leadership and operational oversight. This role is ideal for a seasoned nurse leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at staff development, and ensures high-quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations within the LTC/SNF setting
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow to maintain safe coverage
- Conduct audits, quality assurance reviews, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and administrators
- Develop, implement, and monitor care plans and clinical policies
- Respond to resident/family concerns and support positive outcomes
- Support survey readiness and lead corrective action plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards of care
Requirements
- Active RN license (WY or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of DON or nursing leadership experience in LTC/SNF
- Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines and survey processes
- Current BLS certification
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and drive quality improvement
- Ability to adapt quickly and operate independently as a traveler
- Must meet all facility onboarding, background, and health requirements
