Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership in delivering comprehensive ICU nursing care with compassion and professionalism.
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for critically ill patients.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff and supervise care delivery.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and patients’ families, sharing pertinent information clearly and empathetically.
• Monitor patient progress, respond swiftly to changes, and document all care activities meticulously.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate on solutions for care variances to enhance patient outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective care plans within the ICU setting.
• Proficiency in performing a wide range of professional nursing duties.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records system.
• Hands-on experience with Impella and IABP devices.
• Recent open-heart surgery ICU experience.

Educational & Licensing Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
