Job Description

The Registered Nurse – Operating Room provides perioperative nursing care to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR RN is responsible for maintaining a safe surgical environment, assisting the surgical team, and delivering high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgery. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to function as core staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical suites
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to safety protocols
• Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures
• Float to other units or sister campuses as needed

On-Call Requirements

• Call required (averages approximately 4 call shifts per month)
• Call types may include evening, overnight, or backup call

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Pediatric experience required
• BLS required
• CNOR preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Prior travel experience highly preferred
• Degree accreditation must be listed on profile or minimum of 5 years of experience

Additional Information

• Floating required (travelers are first to float)
• Travelers are expected to function as core staff
• All schedule requests and RTO must be submitted upfront
