Job Description

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond to emergent situations, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe maternal and neonatal outcomes. The RN supports the organization’s mission, values, and commitment to high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to changes appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and protocols
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted State RN License – Required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience within the last 3 years – Required
• BLS (AHA) – Required
• ACLS – Required
• NRP – Required
• AWHONN – Required
• Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour schedules
